he tells the story of a woman caught in the very act of adultery. Now, I don't know about you, but of all the sins not to get caught in the act of, that's got to be at the top of the list! And the law was clear - a one-way ticket to the rock pile.
So they bring this woman to Jesus, and here was his big chance to demonstrate that the wages of sin is death. Here was his big chance to make an example of her so that no one would even think about doing what she did. He made an example of her alright. What did he do?
He forgave her.
Instead of ending her life, he changed her life. Forgiveness changes lives. The Bible doesn't tell us what happened to her after that, but you don't come that close to dying and walk away unchanged.
Forgiveness changes lives. And it's there for every one of us. You may be thinking, "But you don't know what I've done. There is no forgiveness for me." But that is a lie that Satan, the father of lies, tells us to keep us separated from God.
We've all done things we're not proud of. Bring them all to Jesus and receive his forgiveness let a gentle rain from heaven, washing away all of the dirt and grime. Forever.
